Dr. Ankia Coetzee is a distinguished physician who graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2009. Following her move to Cape Town, she began training in Internal Medicine, then undertook subspecialty training in Endocrinology. Having worked in the Endocrinology field for over ten years, Dr. Coetzee has earned a reputation as a leader in the field.

As a Consultant Endocrinologist at Tygerberg Hospital and Stellenbosch University since 2015, Dr. Coetzee has actively contributed to various multidisciplinary forums addressing complex endocrine issues. Pregnancy-related endocrine abnormalities, diabetes, thyroid disorders, neuro-endocrine conditions, pituitary, metabolic bone disease, and obesity are among her specialities.

As a prolific scientific reviewer, she values the 'bench to bedside and back' approach, fusing basic sciences with clinical medicine. Her main research interests are hyperglycemia and pregnancy, guiding her M.Phil and Ph.D. studies.
